The British College of Cosmetic Surgery provides structured professional assessment and credentialling for doctors practising or developing expertise in cosmetic surgery.
All applicants must be medical practitioners in good standing and remain individually accountable to the General Medical Council (GMC) and to the healthcare organisations in which they practise.
This pathway is designed for surgeons with a minimum of three years' established cosmetic surgery experience seeking formal recognition of their expertise through BCCS Fellowship.
The College recognises that formal surgical specialty training leading to entry on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council represents an established pathway within UK surgical training.
The credentialling framework of the BCCS does not replace or replicate formal specialty training pathways and does not confer specialist status.
The College believes that patient safety and public confidence are best supported through transparent standards, measurable competence, and ongoing clinical governance.
